As an experiment, we have been keeping the HVAC "on" when the car is turned off. I do not see frost inside the glass anymore.

Unless something changes, it seems like keeping the HVAC "on" at all...

Mice are allergic to peppermint oil. You can buy it at the healthfood store ina small bottle and dab it around the engine bay. This is how I have kept the rodents out of our cars. Works great!
