Im sorry this isnt brought up more, but yes, you get a considerable amount of power transfer back with a manual. no fluid loss in the TC on a manual = better power transfer :)

there is a calibration/test procedure in vag com for checking O2 sensor health, and cat efficiency.

i cant remember the details, but it involves setting the test procedure and revving the engine...
