The fix:

Lots of wd-40 into the lock mechanism. Lossens things up. Havent had to take teh lock apart.

You're kidding right?

the springs need to end up flat, you have to push the caliper down onto them, then align and tighten the caliper bolts. The caliper presses them down to keep them quiet.

Bennett did seem shaken. I think he had concerns about what might have happened on a higher speed section of the track. He game me the impression that he took it off the track voluntarily but...
