The higher the rpm the more exhaust spins the turbo....

How should it feel? It tends to be a little bit of power at first and then builds in the higher rpms. Think "surge" or exponential curve. ...

I would suspect a warped head if there was damage

If the head warps you can get oil in the coolant or coolant in the oil. Or you could start burning coolant which means steam out the exhaust. Or loss of compression.

If it won't change levels in the cold something is wrong. Cold and snowy conditions is what the allroad was made for. Remember the auto lowering at speed can't be avoided.

It is normal for the allroad. Real pain when you need to do U-turn in a hurry and need to reverse and go forward, expecially when folks are waiting for you to get out of their way.
