Gary - Wil 265/35/18 tire fit a 8.5 wide rim?

I have a 2002 S6 Avant and just got the RS6 9 spoke 30 offset rims. Factory size is 255/40/17. I just bought a set of 265/35/18 off craigslist. will they fit?

I'm looking to get 18's or 19's on my 2002 S6 Avant. Does anyone have pictures with them on their car? When you post, can you list the size of the rim and tire. I am hoping to get some BBS CH rims...

I found the tires (Toyo FZ4's 225/45/17) on craigslist with 80% tread before I received the car. It looks like they are 1 inch narrower...

I have the stock 17 inch avus rims. I just bought the car and it has 255/40/17's. Will 225/45/17's fit on the rims? I found a great pair of Toyo's on craigslist before the car showed up.
