indicators have stopped working

Thanks to an idiot I am reposting this thread.
I am looking for some help with an indicator problem I got today. My indicators stopped working, but my hazards work?

It was the left cat that started the rattle but then the right and so I tried the hammer...

I might pull the starter motor and have a look, and failing that run the car and hope the wheel is stronger than the cheap bit I was using

There are a few holes on top of the bell housing...

There are a few holes on top of the bell housing where you can see the teeth the starter motor fits into. I think the small tool head has got stuck between the teeth and the housing.

Oh yes it's in there. It's either bouncing or stuck next to something moving.
I thought it had fallen down the engine but couldn't find it and then I turned on the car and the noise said it all

nightmare of a day

Thought I would clean my throttle body today, and when I was removing it the small bit tool i was using fell into the bell housing.
What do I do know.

its a big risk but I wont be relying on it as my daily driver so it can sit while I work my way through any problems.
car like that for £1000 is hard to say no too
