Trunk roof (storage) box won't retract

Sounds like the cable snapped. It happens. I've replaced 3 xs in my 03. First was after someone crashed into my backside.
Sucks. Its a cheap plastic mechanism and expensive to replace.

It's likely the cable; I've had THREE different times it's been replaced ($$OUCH) on mine. Seriously, it's made rather cheaply (mainly plastic), and many people have had to replace it or live w/ it....
