Its like nitrous

it only looks good for a few seconds. For a good one step try Hi temp HT-69 or optimum poli seal and top with a decent carnuba paste.

Look into a grit gaurd, There are a lot of spray on spray off rim cleaners. I use wheel brightener from pro. This product alone saves me 20 mins to an hr( BMW rims mostly)

Plus the more you do...

It sounds like you need some better chemicals( good rim clean for starters.
