There is a sensor/transmitter somewhere under the bumper skin on the passenger side.

At least, this is the locataion where you teach the car/homelink to recognize your door clicker.

Clicking at low speed at high turning angle could be a failed CV boot and joint.

The steering issue could be worn tie rod ends.
