BTDT. Was the master cylinder.

Changing out the fluid on the old one didn't help, ended up having to change the MC out completely.

My 200 is just the opposite...cranks super hard in the morning

But is better when warm. Hell when I do get it to start when its cold I can crack the throttle to keep it at 2000 and it will still sometimes die. I have to rev it about 30 seconds before it will...

the clutch master uses brake fluid. Check the hose that runs from the reservoir to the CM

for leaks. If the hose is solid then your CM is leaking. It's awkward to get at, but not too bad to do. Had to replace the one on my old 5K while it was parked in the street. Good times.

My first car was an 87 5ktq, and now almost 12 years later I own another 10V turbo....a 1990 200 quattro wagon! It made the trip from California to Wisconsin almost perfectly. It already has euros...
