Hi Seth,

I might be interested in selling my '05 MT cab, Dolphin Gray, currently at 49K miles, located in the SF Bay Area. Just replaced the tires with Bridgestone RE-01s and the control arms in...

Wait- did they diagnose the control arms as being the cause of the sound? If so, and if you're still under warranty, do a search here and other forums for the control arms issue. Apparently,...

Agreed with the other posters regarding mpg. Great car, but it is a gas guzzler, and if that's a concern, stay away.

Check out Streetwerke in Palo Alto. Well reviewed here and on Yelp. They're an independent tuner shop, but they also say they're happy to work on more "mundane" matters. I recently had my control...

I experienced something similar.

My problem turned out to be torn bushings on the control arms. A search shows that it's not an uncommon problem, although the indy shop I went to said it was the first they'd seen. Estimates for...

Q re Audi iPod adapter

Hi All,

Tried searching but couldn't find a definitive answer. I have a B6 S4 cab with the Symphony II, XM, and Nav Plus. I saw the Audi iPod adapter and was trying to figure out if it would...

1st post in new format; Re Replacing UCA/bushings

Just wanted to share some information on replacing torn bushings/UCA. For reference, my car is an '05 S4 cab, with about 48K miles.

Found out recently that my bushings were torn. Estimates ran...

Only took oil @ $140 and a global financial apocalypse to get there. Ahh, progress.

Thanks Gary (and others who posted about this). Just got my new shoes on yesterday.

Holy hell are they an improvement over my old Bridgestone Potenza RE750s.

I should have bought extra sets, especially as I now see you've run out of my size. :)

Probably the best place to ease into the "sticker shock" that is the bay area.

Sunnyvale hits a sweet spot in terms of rental price. But, as with much of the 'burbs, it can be pretty boring. The "young professionals" there are family-oriented.

In my opinion, your best bets...

Yup. For what it's worth, my old allroad battery failed after just 3 years and during the summer.

Parked outside at work. The AAA guy who jumped the car told me in our area it was actually more common to have battery failures during the summer due to heat.

I have an 05 cab and have driven the sedan and avant too. Lengthy observations inside.

I took my car to an ACNA driving instruction event back in 05, back before the ban on convertibles. If you search the archives, you'll find my very green beginner's comments and insights on how the...

No used M5? I've seen a couple on autotrader that claim to be BMW CPOs.

Otherwise, your list pretty much mirrors my own, except that I'm willing to give the B8 S4 a look.

Also will look at the new CTS-V.

Sorry, I have to join the disagree chorus.

If there's no space to move over, meaning the traffic to the right is also slow, then yeah, I agree you shouldn't try to slow down suddenly and squeeze in just to let some guy pass you. But I do...

I've got an 05 S4 cab too, build date in 04.

Pretty problem-free, knock on wood. Maybe you just got unlucky? I wouldn't count the R8 out.

And would you mind describing some of your car's problems? I passed the 4 year mark in July 08 and...

Interesting. How could the hedge funds not have known Porsche's position in VW?

I'm not sure if Porsche is publicly traded or not, but if so, I think Europe followed the US on Sarb-Ox type transparency regulations, which could require disclosing Porsche's holdings.

Even if...

Just stopped by the board, read this thread, and wanted to wish you good luck.

Knock on wood, I haven't had a problem with the top yet, but I have to tip my hat to you for detailing the problem, your dealings with AoA, and your solutions. It's been very informative reading.

Check out edmunds.

They have a depreciation estimator that may help.

FWIW, I can't imagine that your A4 will depreciate an amount equal to or greater than the A3; new cars depreciate faster, no?
