Almost 100 percent sure that you have a hole in the flex section. Most people change out the entire down pipe and conclude it was the cathalyst. If you decide to do that it will work. I've done it...

If your compressor is jammed there is no way to figured out through VCDS.

SAI pump going...if it happens at start up and goes away after the car warms up. They're know to fail, and some people remove them or relocate them(there is a kit for that from audi).

I don't know about C5 trannies, but on a Mk4 Jetta there is a hole for true TDC and it's at the top of the tranny where it connects to the engine, but it is usually plugged up by a plastic cap...
