So the historical database will become much more difficult to use for any...

I spend 95+% of my forum time in 4 forums with sub-threading capability.

Three of them are kawf, one is a one-off.

I can't imagine using non-threaded software. I *HATE* linear forums where you can't effectively reply to a reply.

Sounds reasonable to me.

I'm on a private kawf forum that was started in 2003, and really got going in the wake of some AWOT over-modding in 2004.

It's still going.

I don't know.

I'm not up on a lot of ordering details, since I got mine used, and didn't look at a lot of cars. That's another story I can relay over a beer.

I will say that while it was a huge PITA, it was...

Sub-threading vs. horrible linear forums makes all the difference.

If you don't spend time in forums, and all you care about is ad revenue and not the user experience, sub-threading probably doesn't seem very important.

So their resources suck?

Sheesh, this can't be *that* hard.

What Man has done, Man can aspire to do.

But, of course, you have to have the right Men. And not boys.

If so, that would be Epic Fail.

They have a user base habituated to the more sophisticated interaction enabled by sub-threading. Throwing that away would kill many of the reasons for being here.

I would strongly consider...

If they can't do threading, they suck.

I will remind them of it daily.

And encourage others to do so.

Many others.

Linear. Forums. Suck. Ass.

And that's putting it politely.

Supposedly they will have a sub-threading mod to vB.

We shall see. Normal, linear, non-threading-enabled vBulletin just sucks, when you are accustomed to the more sophisticated interaction allowed by a threaded forum structure.
