My thoughts are that if your going to the trouble and expense, pull the main hoop forward, push the

verticals outboard to the max and give yourself some protection in the side and as close to above your head as possible. When the poo hits the prop, you don't get a chance to regrow your spinal...

I also wet the filter down before I put it in. Plus, I prime the system w/ the fuel pump fuse out

as an air purge/ oil prime. Of course, w/o oil pressure gauge, I just go for a bit, but it does the job anyway. Comes from the older turbo days, and the race motor days.
