Track pad recommendations?
Anyone have any recommendations of where to buy track pads and any recommendation of what pad? Looking to get some for MMP open track this sat as it'll be my first track day if I end up going.

What kind of car do you have? Much will depend on that
You might check at the model specific forum or the motorsports forum--I would think there are probably threads on this for most specific models.
For my B6 S4 I use Carbotech XP-8s on the front, stock rear pads. I ordered them online from ECS tuning.
Depending on how stout your stock brakes are, you might be able to get away with them on the track. I ran my first track day with stock pads without any issues. That is also not a bad idea because you are already used to the stock feel and power of the stock pads, and you will have enough other new things to worry about at your first day at MMP (such as trying to remember which of the 23 turns is coming up next).
Also keep in mind that you should bed in your new pads before taking them out to the track.
Think about brake fluid and lines too. I use Motul brake fluid, but there are other high quality brands to consider.

It will only be 10 turns as its west track
but I agree on the Carbotech XP-8's for the front and stock for the rear. I ran StopTech Club Race pads in the front and Hawk HPS (street) pads in the rear and had little issues. The StopTech pads are now gone and when I buy my next set it will be the Carbotechs.
Put your order in at least 1 month before the event as they will have to make them. Don't wait till the week before as you will get screwed.
And I highly suggest replacing the OEM brake fluid with Motul 600. Stainless steel brake lines are nice but I don't think are required.

I ran on my stock pads on my TT for about 8 track days. When my
speed increased on a much more technical course with more braking than Miller, I did start getting alot of fad at the end of a 20 minute session.
Thanks, Clark
