Default S7 or A7?

Hi, I'm new to these boards. I'm coming from 2 past MBZ an E350 and CLS 550. I'm ready to move to the new Audi 7, but can't decide if the $16,000 premium is worth the jump from the A to the S.

Here is why I'm struggling. My daily commute is 8 miles round trip (all surface streets). I only drive around 7-8k miles per year. I love the idea of the V8 and the performance of the S but am I really going to enjoy it on a daily basis? I don't think the car will even be warmed up before I get to work. I like both interiors but the S is really nice. But again, I spend very little time in my car.

I'm really on the fence. I've put down a deposit on both vehicles. A Phantom black S7 ( MSRP $84,000, no discount) and a Daytona A7 prestige (MSRP $71,000, discounted to $68,000).

What's a guy to do...?

I"m in the same boat

On cold days when i'm at work in 7 minutes it feels like a waste

On nice days when i'm driving to the Golf Course, I would pay twice the premium much to enjoy the car to its fullest

You won't regret the $14k...

i owned a 2012 A7 and now own a 2013 S7. And I'm here to tell you the S7 is definitely worth the premium. The acceleration is awesome, the sound from the exhaust is worth the price of admission alone and the interior is definitely a big step up. I was going to place an order for an RS7, but the S7 is so much car that I don't think I will miss it.

Thanks for your responses. I went with the S. Thankfully, the dealer is 50 miles from my house.
