Possibly new to audi
I just gave my lease up on my 2014 e63 amg. I test drove the 2015 s6 and I was very impressed. The seats were more comfortable and the handling was amazing. There wasn't as much torque as my former car but that's to be expected. I really like the looks of the S7 and am deciding whether to purchase a 2013 s7 or lease a 2015 s6. The payments would be similar. I was quoted 1249 per month with 2500 down for the s6. Any suggestions for an audi newbie? Thanks in advance guys.

The performance of the two cars will essentially be identical. The difference in looks is a personal choice. The reason I chose the S7 is the practicality of the hatch. With the back seat down, there's 49 cubic feet of space. I use the car more like an SUV. There's tons of room for my big dog and tons of space when I make my Costco run and pick up a 13-year supply of paper towels. I almost never have the back seat up.

I test drove both before deciding on the S7. Like grogs4dogs, I like the extra utility of the hatch (really wanted an S6 Avant but we don't get those in the states), and I prefer the styling of the S7, too.
The only drawbacks in my view are the reduced rear headroom and the lack of a 5th seat. In my case, I didn't really care about the headroom since I rarely go any considerable distance with 6 footers in the back, and I rarely have 5 people in the car. My wife's Passat can handle the 5 person rides without a problem.
If you have relatively tall adults in the rear with any frequency, I'd probably lean towards the S6. In either case, I don't think you can really go wrong. Good luck!
