When you brake normally, the back lights go on as normal; when you brake in an emergency, they blink several times per second to warn the cars behind.

Enable Adaptive brake lights
[46 - Comfort System] [Coding - 07] -> Long Coding Helper -> Byte 8
Bit 0 – Emergency Brake Flashing via Turn Lights active - check box
Bit 1 – Emergency Brake Flashing via Brake Lights active - check box
I haven't tried either of the options but apparently others have had success.

Thank for the good info. I usually tap the brake pedal several times when I predict trouble ahead on the highway. I did it yesterday when traveling near the Rochester NY airport that is known for white outs from blowing snow and saw many brake lights ahead. A RIT student lost her life in a multi-car accident in the same area a few winters ago.

Does anyone know what triggers it? Is it -'ve G or brake pedal pressure or?
I enabled it but I have not seen it work, do I really have to stomp on the brakes?
I noticed a Smart car with them and they flashed Every time he braked even if it was a slight slowing.
