Default Washing A6

How and how often do you wash your A6? I know you guys will say hand washing is the best way. I'm in Michigan. It's March 1 and snowing. I had bad experience with automatic (cloth one) car wash. So I'm thinking touch-free automatic. Is touch-free car wash the next best way?
Also how often is good for the car? I read washing too often is not good for the paint as well.

I am in Minnesota and take my car through a touch free automatic wash every other fill-up. Once it gets warm out, I save the money and had wash.

I never go through a car wash with cloth or rubber things that touch the car. Period.

X3. And, this is the best way to get all the road salt off your car this time of year. I even take the wife's TT Roadster through the wash (Top closed of course, lol).

I use the local car wash (it's the actual car wash Walter White used to launder his money in BB) and it does an awesome job it has the cloth hang down things and I have never had a problem in 20+ years.

In Orlando I haven't seen a touchless car wash in years. And there is no way I would those whips touch my car in other washes.

Orlando is easy as its warm! I can't find a local touchless or hand wash in Central NJ and I may need to take the S6 to the local wash-o-matic, and hope for the best. I wash it by hand when its warm. Anyone in NJ know of a good carwash near Bridgewater NJ?

I don't like those touchless washes at all. Too much water pressure.

I just use a garden hose with a fan-spray nozzle, two buckets and a microfiber mitt.
