tuning the S6

tuning the S6
I had APR stage 2 on my 3.0 A6 and really liked it- it's fairly inconvenient to have done tho due to my location. Now I have the S6, was considering future upgrades. Does anyone know anything about or have any experience with Racechip? https://www.racechip.us/shop/audi/s6...SABEgLTx_D_BwE
It's obviously less expensive and can be done at home- but I've never heard of them and i'm a bit wary. Thoughts?

Maybe look into EPL or Unitronic?

Definitely go with the JB4 by Burger Motorsports
Group 11: JB4 Tuner for Audi 4.0TFSI
Hands down go with JB4 for the 4.0T C7 S6/S7 models. TONS of positive feedback from beta testers, and available now in beta, meaning it will be receiving free updates and getting into more maps and tuning down the line.
The 93 octane map, map 2 you can use a blend of E85 and 93 turns it into a beast! I have it. Becomes an 11 second car all day. Have to dial down boost at launch as all 4 tires spin. Also you can remove it for services or warranty claims with no trace on the ECU. A lot of APR stage 2 guys have already switched. Finally showing Audi some love! 👍

Why did you not consider the APR stage 1 tune for this vehicle as well? Just curious

Bump
Bump. Has anyone tuned their C7, that can provide insight? I see mentioned EPL, APR, and this Racechip. Considering if it is worth it for my recently bought S6 with 57k miles on it. Thanks.

DS1 has shown to be quite impressive. It's a flash tune so if you're under any kind of warranty coverage you want to consider that you risk getting flagged TD1. I had an older version of the Racechip on my car for a short time before the JB4 was available. I purchased the JB4 and it's a better product from multiple standpoints. My car was purchased new in Feb of 2019 and I didn't want to risk losing my warranty coverage. If I was going to flash tune, I'd be all over the DS1

Recommendations for 2016 A6 3.0
I'm new to Audi, and am looking for recommendations for adding a reputable, reliable performance chip to my recently purchased CPO A6. I don't plan on doing much to the car other than adding a chip to boost HP. Don't care about improved mileage.
Thanks for recommendations.

I went (in the end) with BoostedEuro for a TCU tune and DS1 package.
I originally got a JB4 on my ‘13 S6 for a year or so and it was great. Very noticeable and worth the price. I sold it and went with the dynospectrum (DS1) tune and would say the JB4 is approximately a stage 0.5 when compared to DS1 stage 1. Stage 2 is utilizing the srm “intake” and is noticeable but not like JB4 on stock car, maybe a quarter of what JB4 adds. DS1 allows for e85 witch is a significant power over 91 or 93 closer to another 0.5 stage increase.
APR has a very aggressive great tune that is $800 vs $1200 for DS1. If your gonna flash and be done apr is a great deal. If you have access to e85 (you should use it!) then DS1 is a no brainer. If you ever want to flash back to “stock” or a different stage tune then DS1. If you ever want to go bigger turbos then DS1. If you want to flash from your phone or display live gauges or log in super fast real-time then DS1. If you want to add “pops and bangs” or alter your tune yourself or have a “pro” tuner tweak your tune remotely then DS1. APR has moved on from the 4.0 platform while DS1 is constantly tweaking and updating their logic. It’s a great deal with all the stages and a data logger included and flash from home anytime. There is also great community support and the DS1 guys answer q’s daily.
