Trade-In Value 2013 S6
Stopped at the local Audi dealer today to inquire about an RS7. Asked about trade-in value of my 2013 S6 with 10,000 miles that I purchased in March of 2013, MSRP was 90k. No paint work or damage to car. Glacier white with almost all available options. I didn't have the car with me, but they said 2013 S6s were selling at Manheim for 50-57k. I see similar cars on Autotrader listed from 66-73K. Obviously, I'm disappointed. I was considering ordering a new RS7 at about 119K and they also have a 2014 used on the lot with 470 miles that had an MSRP 0f 131K (yhey're asking 126K!). Any guidance?

I got my 2013 in April with 17k miles, CPO and Audicare. base model carbon fiber trim.
paid 66k. I imagine 4 months later it might be down to 63 or 64. but 57 loaded?...I highly doubt it. Hold out for more....much more.

To be honest, the secondary market on the S6 tanked hard in the past 6 months. Many people were dumping their 13's for 14's after just a year. There became a glut on the market too quickly and therefore they were going really low at auction to get rid of them.
Mid 50's is on pace now for a 13 especially since we are starting to get the 15's in.

15% depreciation from original MSRP the first year on a luxury car with typical mileage is pretty common. As stated, the first year is the worst and the % of depreciation lessens each year. A 2013 model is now two model years old so as much as a 23% depreciation from original MSRP would not be at all surprising. Also, a dealer would be quoting wholesale value, not retail.

My '13 has 16500 miles and excellent condition. Was offered $54.5 as trade on '14 Carrera 2 cabriolet with msrp of $110k. In another month or so you can get $10k off msrp on model year '14 Porsches. I'm holding out for that and hoping the S6 holds close to current value.

Ok, maybe not exact same model. But I got three people out of their S6's and into an RS7, S8 and RS5. I'm personally on my 3rd S6 in a year and half.

you cant think of it as a $90k msrp car, as most/all Porsche owners know, you'll never get all your money back in options. with Porsche's, $15-20k in options is standard and its very easy to go $30-40k+ on a build if you want everything. when it comes time to sell, you never can recoup that. I think my B8 S4 held up better, last time I went in for a tsb they offered me $32k for a MY10 with 33k miles.
