S6 diffuser refinished!
Since I found out how to remove the valance the other day thanks to S6Express in that other thread, I decided to join the satin black valance club. I was going to have mine painted and the body shop thought the rear bumper needed to be removed (not).
Then I thought I might use plasti-dip. I was at the PPG paint store yesterday where I buy a lot of detailing supplies and he told me about a new product from Duplicolor that is like plastidip so I bought a can.
I did some test samples on some aluminum strips. Tried some black trim paint (didn't look good so I didn't include it in the pic, plus it is too permanent) some plastidip, and some of the new Duplicolor. Here are the samples, plastidip on the left, duplicolor on the right:
I thought the duplicolor product looked smoother, with less cheesy glare, a real nice carbon black finish, so I decided to use that. Came out good, and I like the fact that I can take it off easy if I want to put the car back to stock. Sometimes I feel like I shouldn't be changing such an expensive car!
Anyway, I got done late and it was pretty dark, but I snapped a few pics. I finally figured out why I put those diamond black tips on that AWE exhaust! I had been waiting for this matte black valance! I love this! It makes it all come together...They just didn't look right next to that grey on the black car...
