MY12 and MY13 (iirc) had the B&O sub mounted to the rear deck on the A6. Bass was lacking. For MY14, the A6 adopted the spare tire well sub from the A7. And then at MY16, both got a new amp and programming. Much louder.

Decided I'm going to add a small drop-in box to the trunk. Likely a JL self-powered unit, for ease on installation and simplicity. Should add just the right amount of bump the system really needs. In all reality, there's not a factory system out there that has enough "proper" subwoofer bass from the factory... so I shouldn't be surprised.
