Tenspeed - How's the clearplex? Does it distort your vision at all? Was thinking of putting it on the GT3 when I get it. The windshield on the S6 is so pitted it is crazy. Wanted to try to avoid that if it is worth it.

My installer isn't sure the aluminum mirrors will hold the film, but he's willing to give it a shot... plan is Thursday, so I'll report back a week or two post-installation.

They will hold the film. Did he give you a reason why it wouldn't hold? That surprises me he made that statement.

Buy the Clearplex.

I use the Suntek version on both my RS6s and our new SQ5. Vision is perfectly clear

He didn't say that it wouldn't hold, just that he didn't know if it would - he hadn't done that type before. He was definitely willing to try it just noted we might have to pull it back off if it doesn't look good. He noted some non-painted surfaces cause the adhesive to look whitish.

Awesome, thanks! Does your film cover any more than the aluminum? Installer was pretty sure it wouldn't stick to the plastic and that the groove on top could be problematic. I figure the basic impact zone is good, but any hints from your install are welcome!

Really just covers over the silver part of the mirror. Like you say it is the major impact zone anyway.

Same here - and my installer said it went on well and felt good, so he's not too worried now.

Thanks all for the info!

I ran into Inferno today (not literally!) and we compared cars, so now I'm working on him to PPF his ride - that naked Estoril of his makes me shudder
