Default Paint protection film on mirror housings?

Question for the PPF brain trust... I'm pretty well settled on Xpel Ultimate thanks to AW, but as I get closer to actually getting my car I'm pinning down more details. Namely, with the S6 "aluminum" mirror housings, what's the opinion on covering them? Anyone have any regrets either way?

TIA!

Can't speak to the aluminum mirrors (I have XU on my painted ones). but I can't imagine why not though. I would think rock chips could scar the finish on those as well.

Mine are covered (as is the entire front of the car). It's not noticeable unless you are close and looking for the edge. As snagit said, the mirrors are susceptible to rock chips as well.

my mirrors are covered as well. I took the car straight to my clear bra guy from the dealership and he just did it.

My mirrors are covered with xpel. and the large pre-xpel chip in my driver mirror is proof it is worth the investment.

My only issue with xpel is i have a couple corners/edges with dirt between the film and the paint. Probably going to have those sections replaced.

Here's my paint protection film list (so far).

Full front bumper including headlights

Full hood

Full fenders

"A" frame pillars back to where the joint between front and back of the car are separated.

Roof between the windshield and sunroof

Both Mirrors (just the tops, not the bottoms)

Door handle cups

Bottoms of the doors

Rocker panels

bottom of the rear quarters

Rear Bumper for loading/unloading stuff (Just the top)

Wrap the material around the edges for full coverage. Pre cut film kits leave the edges open.

ClearPlex on the windshield

Wow, all in Xpel Ultimate? That must have run a pretty penny....

I was thinking headlights if it will prevent the yellowing, and definitely want door handle cups after the current car experience!

Actually you make a good point, I should go look over my C5 and see where I should have protected it more...

Other than the front fenders and hood, I feel wrapping the edges in the front is an expensive, negative value proposition as the bumper, lights, etc. would have to be removed (I've seen other cars have this done and the labor isn't cheap). If cut and applied correctly, the seams down there are virtually invisible as it is on my car.
