I have my recall work scheduled but read on one of the posts that it would be prudent to get the PCV valve replaced. Was quoted less than an hour labor due to it already being torn down and cost of part is $340. Is this something worthwhile in doing?

Appreciate any feedback.

THanks,

I had the 21H7 recall performed on August 17 along with new rear brakes and rotors and a brake system flush. Dropped the car at 9am and had it back at 6pm the same day. My invoice looks just like the one posted above.
If you are having service done at the same time, don't let them charge you for an oil change - one is performed as part of the recall.

THanks,
I can totally understand paying for the part but not the labor since they have to remove it to get down to the strainer. Remove old part, install new part. Even if you have to swap parts onto the new valve like the 3.0 there is no reason to charge 1 hour labor for 15 minutes of work.

I saw somewhere that the recall would involve checking the ECU for proper function, and was expecting them to detect the APR tune but there’s no mention of that anywhere.
I am looking to pick up an S6 and the ones I've seen have not had the turbo screen repair done yet per their Carfax reports. Is a tune or TD1 something that would automatically have the recall work denied? Is it something that is discretionary based on dealer? I certainly don't want to inherit a problem, and a lot of these cars are not being sold by Audi dealers or shops that can check what's been flashed to the ECU.

I don’t think TD1 will affect the ability to get the recall work done. They may deny warranty turbo repair if they fail though. The reason few have had the recall done is the dealers have only started doing them a few weeks ago.

So I'm following threads on this topic and I'm starting to get confused. I have a 2017 with 55K miles. What should I get replaced in addition to the screens?
The PCV? What is that exactly? Also, my friend said I should get the valves cleaned of carbon build up while the engine is opened up. Is that still recommended?
Thanks

Since it’s a recall then having TD1 status should not impact getting Audi to do the work. As to replacing the PCV while you are there is going to cost the owner $$. There is an extended warranty on the PCV for the 2013 to 2016 models; 10 years or 120,000 miles. Not sure I would have it changed on a 2017 or newer unless it fails.
