Full-size spare/wheel in tire well?

If driving conservatively for a short distance below 50 mph, it probably wouldn't make much difference. The key is not to drive for any length of time/distance and get the bad one repaired (or replaced with the same tire model) as soon as possible.

Thank you very much!!!
I agree with what snagitseven said, but my personal preference would be for a full-sized wrong-compound tire vs a donut spare.
Heck, I'd prefer almost anything to a donut spare....
On the C5 I started and ended up with 5 matched wheels (running C5 S6 wheels oddly enough) - and that's what I'd ideally like on the C7 if one will fit.

Well I haven't pulled a wheel off to try it, but looking in the spare well it seems like the battery box and other electronics are going to prevent anything much wider than the 145/60-20 spare from fitting

Just tried it.
yes, you are correct. I have 19" wheels and it doesn't work.

How did you fit the full size spare? I use all season 225/55R17 Cross Climate +. I want to have a full size spare. I suspect I cannot trust the 22 year old unused tempoaray spare, and I want something that is not limiting with respect to speed and distance. I saw you got a 235/45R17 to fit, but the revolutions per mile discrepancy is almost 6%, (225/55R17 is 754 r/m and 235/45R17 is 797, thus 797/754 = 1.057). I cannot find any data on allowable tolerances for revs per mile discrepancy.
Did you have to modify, enlarge the well, deflate the tire, etc
Thanks

Your car is a c5 this section of the forum relates to the c7 so what fits in the well of the C7 will be different to what fits in the space for your c5. That said I think you need much less than a 6% variation, especially on a car with Quattro otherwise you run the risk of causing serious issues in the various differentials. I think Audi recommend when replacing tyres that you do both on the same axel at the same time for this reason. Here in the UK it would also be illegal to run different size wheels and tyres on the same axle, unless it is a designated space saver spare and the car is run at reduced speed and only for a short distance. Not sure how your insurer would act if you had an accident and found the mismatched tyres
