Default C7 S6 Diffuser Install

I couldn't find this info in another thread. Does anyone know how to remove and replace the rear diffuser? A mechanic quoted me $150 to do it but it looks like it is only a few screws and clips. And I don't have time to leave the car for the shop to do it anytime soon.

Thanks in advance.

I'm not positive from first hand experience, but I have been told that the rear bumper has to come off by two sources, audi dealer mechanic and bodyshop

Uggh, ok thanks. Better to know now than get it half apart.

I've removed mine. It's just a few screws and clips. Once you remove the screws underneath pull out and the clips will come loose. It's easy to push back in as well. 10 minute job.

I like this answer! Hopefully I can get it done tonight and report back.

I installed the diffuser myself (Pic attached for those interested in seeing matte black with gloss black trim). No need to take the bumper off and all you need is a couple of torx bits to unscrew the fasteners. Then the clips pop out when you pull off the diffuser. It took me about 20 min but that's only because I was extra careful not to break any plastic. I can't believe I was going to drop my car off with a mechanic, rent a car to go to work, and pay $150 to have this done.

Thanks for the info!

Awesome news! Do the clips go back in the right way for sure?

Yes, very easily. You can't mess it up. When it's time to reinsert the clips just start on one end and start banging them in. The clips are actually inside the bumper, the rear diffuser just has some tongues that insert back into the clips.
