Default 2016 S6 35K service done, 200 miles later turbo blows

I just had my 35k service done on my 2016 S6, and driving home last night heard weird noise then the car started to idle rough. When I got to a light it died and didn't want to start again. I got home and checked this morning and it started but sounded like metal on metal coming from the top of the motor. I drove a little over 200 miles since the service and this happened.

I had the car towed to dealer and they confirmed the turbos where blown.

They are going to call AoA to see if they can get help.

Any thoughts how I should handle this?

Shouldn't the car still be under warranty? Blown turbos at 35k mi is probably the lowest mileage I've heard of. I think most have blown upwards of 60-70k miles.

It was 6 mos over the time limit, but all is good. Audi took care of it.

Audi is picking up the cost minus diagnostic fee of $159 and towing to the dealer.

I am really not feeling comfortable with the car anymore when something this expensive fails at 35k miles, so not sure how long I am going to keep when I get it back. dealer has had it 1 week should have it within 10 days of taking it in for service.

While your concern is understandable did you ever get pictures of the failed parts, screens, etc. or details of what happened? There was some speculation that the dealer did something wrong since it failed shortly after an oil change. Did they mistakenly use the 0w-20 spec for newer vehicles than yours? They certainly took care of you right and quick after the issue.

Being a repair shop we always hate it when something breaks shortly after service. It happens and I completely understand one's thinking the service center caused the issue. Not knowing what was done it is hard to guess if they were at fault. I agree that 35k is scary early to have a turbo fail. But it does happen. It should be covered and there is no way that this customer should have to pay the $159 Diagnostic fee on a warrantied item. That is total stealership greed.
