Default So yesterday, I'm driving my car, go to shift, and . . .

. . . the car won't go in gear, and the clutch pedal feels like it's lost a lot of it's stiffness/weight. I coast to a stop, and pop the hood. Brake fluid level perfect. Not a blown slave/master clutch cylinder. Hrm. I call for a tow, and have it brought to Shokan so I can work on it (thinking it would be simple, only something wrong with the clutch pedal). We take a look at the clutch slave, and it's operation as it should. At 6:30 PM they decide it might be the TO bearing. At 7:30 PM we have the tranny out, and we think we figured out why my clutch wasn't working. Half of the fingers on the pressure plate look as if they have collapsed. Here is my best artists rendition of what it looked like, since I didn't have my camera.

Anyone have any ideas as if to why this happened, or if they think it is my problem? BTW, TO bearing did look like crap, but was fully operational. The clutch is a Centerfroce unit, hence why the PP is orange.

Also, with my single mass alu flywheel, what new clutch set up should i get?

Not often that you see the pressure plate wear out before the disc! Wow!

Disk is about half worn. That's why I'm shopping for a new kit right now.

Same thing with the finges and the non-going in of the gears?

Yup, exactly the same. Seemed to happen suddenly too.

Default Thats odd, but makes sense though. .

Since those fingers failed, the clutch wouldn't disengauge completely. Luckily you didn't cram it into gear and start wearing synchros.

Default Nope, the clutch pedal feeling more the half as light as it used to clued me into to not trying to

jam it in gear.

Default Besides bent fingers, perhaps one side of the diaphragm spring went over-center and stuck there.

Maybe the TO bearing got tilted a little and put an uncentered force on your Centerforce ;-)
The cenfrifugal weights that were left off, supposedly for clearance reasons on the urs4/s6, are supposed to help recover from overcentering at high RPM.
