The Irony or Reality is...
That the SLA plastic piece really isn't any smoother than the cast manifold, SLA's are built by depositing a layer of material one "slice" at a time, this results in lines and straitions along the surface, and curved areas get more as the layers build like a topographical map.
So yea, this casting is as smooth as it gets, and it should be as the manufacturer is an OE for Audi themselves =)
