Well anyways, I had my old Touareg Torch from my last car and wanted to use it on my new S4 and have it handy for quick use...


I don't smoke and have NO need for the cig lighter.


Problem:
The ashtray will not close due to the Tourarg Torch being to tall/big.

Solution:
Shorten the barrel of the torch so that the ashtray door can shut...

I cut the barrel near but not at the top of the torch. I used a hacksaw (for a relatively smooth cut) and a standard mitre box (for a relatively straight cut).


Saw off about 1/8" off the top of the cut-off. Care should be taken not to cut the LED bulb or scratching it. Also, make every effort to saw/cut square.


Clean off all the plastic burrs on the outer and inner edge of both pieces for a clean mend.
Check for fit.
Next just SuperGlue the pieces back together.
I used SuperGlue Gel so that it fills in any voids and makes sure that a good bond is made.
Careful not to be sloppy. No glue on torch lense or LED bulb.


Clamp and let dry for 10 minutes or so.


Here's the end result


And the Ashtray Door shuts too !!!
