Something ALL car lovers would love...
On Saturday, World Class Driving (WCD) started their country wide tour here in
Charlotte, NC. What is WCD you say? For 800 bones you get a day of driving
some of the most intense cars available ... Ferrari F430 F1, Lamborghini Gallardo
E-gear, Aston Martin DB9 Volante, Bentley GT, Corvette Z06, and Ferrari 612
(there was supposed to be a Ford GT but 3 days ago it was wrecked by one of the
staff members, so the 612 became the substitute). You may have seen their full
page ad in Road & Track.

They also had a Rolls Royce Phantom for quick stops to Starbucks - talk about
luxurious.
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/106716/147-4781_img.jpg">
The day was absolutely perfect - perfect 75 degrees, perfect sun, perfect
everything. It was hosted at the Ballantyne Resort Hotel (where all of the
golfers will be staying next week for the Wachovia Golf Tournament) and started
with breakfast and an introduction to the day's activities. Everyone received
a polo shirt and baseball hat commemorating the event.
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/106716/147-4789_img.jpg">
Then everyone was given his/her schedule of drives for the day - you get to
drive each car for approximately 30 miles (about a 25 minute drive). The route
included 2-lane city roads, a winding country road, and lastly, a stretch of
interstate highway.
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/106716/147-4790_img.jpg">
Every car was phenomenal, but the entire group seemed to agree that for the "
sports cars" the Lambo Gallardo and Ferrari F430 stole the show (with a slight
advantage given to the F-car) and without question, the unanimous favorite of
the GTs was the Bentley.
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/106716/147-4787_img.jpg">
WCD has planned these events across the country and I would highly recommend
checking it out - it is an incredible experience. How many times can you say, "
Yeah, today I drove a Lambo, 2 Ferraris, an Aston Martin, a Bentley, and a
Z06!"

Re: Something ALL car lovers would love...
about how much time did you get in each car? were they very strict with the aggressive driving, or laid back about reasonable speeds over the limit? thinking about doing the NY one in june, your answers would be appreciated

You get about 25-30 minutes of actual drive time in each vehicle. They will develop a (approx.) 30 mile trek -- ours included some busy roads (where all the traffic gives you thumbs up), two lane country road, and a stretch of interstate highway.
For the Gallardo and the F430, a staff member (unless you have a passenger) will ride with you. If you are cool, they will let you open them up a bit. One guy hit 140 mph in the F430.
