is there a way to discern build date by assembly number?

Default is there a way to discern build date by assembly number?
tried various vin decoders no luck... (obviously i do not have access to the car the moment so i cannot look at tags.)

the car was originally purchased and registered in august of 2004.

Default Is there some way that you can get someone to look inside the driver side door?
Sticker on door will give the build MONTH.

Default the one with the 'question-mark' in it is the updated/revised 4.2???

My 04 looks like the other 3, in regards to the fuel rail.

Default i was reading the archives and a few posts said that early build 04 had different fuel rail than
late build... the photo of the engine bay with the question-mark is of a 2005 s4 cabrio iirc.

btw, the bose premium sound system is 215w or???

They are all the same block. Define what you mean by "updated/revised 4.2"
