AMD ECU UPGRADE MADE POWER!!!
Installed my ECU today from AMD. The car felt stonger. But it hard to compare when you have not driven the car for a week. So I needed a comparison. Raced my friends 04 S4. Which is a exact match to my car. Exhaust and K&N. Started on a roll at 20mph and I pulled 2-3 car lengths on him all three times we ran and he is great driver. So the risk was worth it. AMD chip made serious Power.

Well done! Was that a reprogramme or chip change?
As u know, AMD can do a flash program now. I presume it should be the same program on either one.
Have you recorded a 0-62 time?
Please post on board, as I am waiting for that to take the plunge!!!

nope they said its to difficult when i asked....
costs to much and is to difficult. Dont know what they mean by that. I would be all about it if I didnt have to crack open my ECU.

Actually, they use encryption to protect their code
They claim they are getting so much more power than any of the other tuners that they are worried another tuner might reverse-engineer it.
They run their chip through an encryption chip, so the chip itself can't be read directly. The encryptor also has some other stunts going on to make it so that their software works when doing it's job, but that if you try to read their code directly through the car (via OBD or VAG, etc), you will still get giberish.
I'm demoing their software - my ECU should be back this afternoon. I'm a friend of AvramD's, and he asked me to try it out. We've both heard reports from one of their customers that not only is power gain significant, but throttle behavior is greatly improved.
AMD has asked AvramD to evaluate their product, because they want his feedback on the throttle behavior gains, w/rt all the research he's done. Avram was also unwilling to crack his ECU, particularly because he's in the process of getting a buyback. I'm not quite so fussy about the throttle, and I'm quite happy with my car, so I agreed to be the testbed. AvramD & I will trade cars for a few days.
I don't know about this Avant stuff though, it sounds nice in theory, but I'm afraid I might lose a little face showing up for work in a station wagon (just pulling your leg Avram ;-)

Which K&N filter do you have on your car?
Greedspeed sells one but it says it is for either the A4 or S4. If you have a part number for the filter that would be greatly appreciated.
