Well, hopefully my latest install will keep me from getting tickets from laser guns. Now, before anybody turns on the flame thrower because I've purchased a laser jammer... from what I've read (from many sources) they do work. Well... let's hope it performs in the real world like it does in the test.
From one of the tests I read for the Laser echo (now discontinued, new model, LE-20 uses 2 of the same GaAs lasers):
"The Laser Echo with its powerful GaAs laser was the only unit able to defeat all three lasers regardless of where they were aimed. Even when tested with a single transmitter the unit proved highly effective. Although additional transmitters would provide extra protection for a vehicle with an extra-large frontal area, the Laser Echo's performance is so good that we suspect only a vehicle the size of a Kenworth cab-over would warrant the cost and installation headaches imposed by multiple transmitters."
Sensors/lasers highlighted in yellow.
Anybody know someone with access to a laser gun around Houston? I'd like to test this puppy.

Hey now c'mon this is a society predicated on law and order
you can't simply do w/o police or opportunistic leeches would be thieving and vandalizing your every possesion the moment you turned your attention away from them.
The police serve the interests of the people who abide by the laws of the land. If you choose to speed you do so full knowing that you could be caught and fined in a manner consistent with the documented laws.
Speeding is a game of cat and mouse, you have simply to outwit them and beat them at their own game with devices like those Don has installed. Don't hate them because they beat you at a game you choose to play :-(
Besides...I dunno bout you...but I speed, I'm 25 years old and have been driving for 9 years. I consider myself a moderately skilled driver given my 9 years of experience. When I see some zitty faced 16 year old punk zip by me when I'm already speeding I just PRAY there's a cop up ahead. Call me arrogant but I think kids like that are a bigger danger than I am at my elevated speeds. I slow for a rise in the road...or a 3 way intersection w/o lights...or a bend in the road, but these kids just stay in the gas. Who knows some day you may be around a curve changing a tire on the drivers side and have your life cut short by one of those inexperienced drivers. Hopefully when these kids get tickets it slows them down because they worry they can't pay thier insurance...or that their parents will revoke their driving privledges etc.
Regards,
James R.

I was hit head-on 4 years ago, by a stupid 22 year bitch in S.D.
that thought she could take a 35MPH posted, 180 Deg offramp
at 70MPH in her Ford Exploder
she lost it after 90 Deg and went up the embankment, broke through a grove of thick brush and hit the road 30Ft in front of the Camry, my GF was driving
our combined impact speed was 70MPH and it hit on the passenger side (where I was), and pushed the front end all the way back to the firewall
even with a seatbelt, the airbag peeled off the skin on the right side of my face.
but in whosyerdaddy's defense, it was bone-dry when the accident happened..but after the hour it took for the CHP and paramedics to arrive.
A super mild "california sprinkle" had started
so the Chippes were so understanding about how this poor little blonde girl had lost control on wet pavement..even while I was being dragged out the car on a backboard..I heard them trying to comfort her
"HEY, *******S?!?, she nearly killed 2 people!"
even though my GF was screaming to to a field sobriety test
and 5 witnesses said it wasn't raining before or at the time of the accident.
they didn't bother, bet they got her phone # though
I don't respect cops very much I'm afraid
