How does the top of the filter stay snug to the top of the box?

looks like it's relying on the box being the right height so that when the top is put on, it'll just sit around the filter's top edge. Is it tight enough to ensure that the filter won't move at the bottom and thus having the filter fall sideways in the box, not doing anything? Or will this be welded?

Is the bottom of the filter solid, or is it foam as well? If foam, I'd assume then that you wouldn't have the above mentioned pressure fit, and instead suspend it in the box to make use of that bottom surface area.
