Default How hard is it to align the HID's...

I have taken my s4 into momentum twice now to align my HID's and each time they said it was done. well, tommorrow will be the third time to do something that sounds easy to do. any suggestions, are all audi mechanics stupid or just lazy?

I think you use the VAG tool to adjust them properly, since they are tied into the suspension.

Default I was told

Aftermarket suspension .. means losing adjustability on your hid's. Is this true?

Thanks for the heads up... Dealer told me this when I asked to have my headlights realigned.

Default Woah.. I just got back from aligning mine..

The process is really straightforward assuming you know the correct method.

What I did was make a template and use it in conjunction with VAG-COM:

1) Measured the distance between the center line of the car and each Xenon projector. Marked these three points on a big piece of cardboard.

2) Then drew two big X's 2.5" below the Xenon projector marks.

3) Measure the distance from the ground to the center of the projectors.

4) Hung the template on the wall so that the projector center marks were at the same height as they are the car.

5) Put my car 25' away from the wall and turned on the headlights.

6) Plugged in VAG, went into headlight ranges, basic settings, group 001 "Go!"

7) Once it said "Headlight Set", I adjusted the lights so that the lower break points were on the 2.5" marks on my template 25' away.

8) Hit group 002 on VAG and it says "Learned"

9) Done!
