I hardwired my Valentine1 in to the right of my mirror, and now I am contemplating buying the remote. Is it worth it?

I was driving to the keys from Miami one night and was using my V1 without remote.
A cop got behind me and turned his camera on, my v1 lite up and was loud. I knew he could see my LED's screaming away. If I had the remote hidden he never would have known I had the radar.
It's a long story but the sum of it is, He escorted me out of Deer Key at 35mph staying 10ft off my bumper on a deserted road. He didn't like that I had my radar on and he was itching to pull me over. I didn't give him any reason too. (I slowed down because he was using Instant on and I got wind of him about 1 mile back. I knew he was there, he knew, that I knew, that he was there. and he saw the radar..
see my point??
If you hide the LED cops won't know you have it therefore they won't assume you were speeding and then slowed down because your radar started screaming..

Yes, there are few place is the S4 where you can mount it so nicely.

Where did you mount yours, I don't like it right above the steering wheel.

I think I recall your story...and if I recall, you were driving WAY over the limit, and mashed your brakes after the V1 lit up...as you brought your car back down to legal speeds, you made eye contact with the officer. Isn't it possible that he clocked you...but didn't get a visual, and *that* was the reason he followed you through the town? You even mentioned that they attempted to use an unmarked car to nail you. I really doubt this was all because a few lights lit up on your window.

I've never had a cop give me a hard time because they saw the lights in the window, but then again, in NJ, there are a LOT of drivers running around with RD's.

I get irritated with the leeches that follow me when they see I have a radar detector. If they are following *me*, then they can not be my bait, can they? :-) Radar is hardwired with a remote display for that reason...problem is, if I'm getting pulled over, it's a lot harder to make a hardwired V1 with a remote display "disappear", than it would a cig. powered V1.
