Question, anyone know the VAG code to activate the BOSE software
I had my radio replaced two weeks ago at the dealer, I just noticed this morning that when I turn it on that BOSE is not displayed.
So I'm after fiinding out that the head units are identical, the softwaare just needs to be activated to make use of the Amp and speakers.
So I'm sure someone here knows the code.
Tks.

Try the following...
Bose code is 00017.
Breakdown of number (12345) is:
1. Country code. 0 is standard.
2. Sound matching. 0 is only value mentioned.
3. # of passive speakers.
0 - No passive speakers (Bose).
1 - Passive speaker (Bose w/Phone).
2 - Passive front and 2 active rear
5 - Passive front and no active rear.
4. Type of adjustment.
0 - Standard.
1 - Bose.
5. Radio Configuration
1 - Antenna
3 - Antenna and CD Changer
5 - Antenna and Secondary Display (NAV)
7 - Antenna, CD Changer, NAV

So are you saying that the extra money for the BOSE option...
is just crap?!? Audi installs the BOSE hardware (extra speakers, whatever) in every car and just doesn't activate it?!? That's terrible!

00117
The Bose radio code should be 00117. The 3rd digit turns on the seperate phone speaker in the driver's door, the 4th digit turns on the Bose system, and the 5th digit turns on the CD changer display.

It was activated on the original radio, however
I got a new or refubished one fitted two weeks ago, due to the previous one having radio freq jumping problems , console display problems and cd changer communication problems. I ordered it from the dealer in Oct, and eventually had to escalate it to AoA and from that got it in two weeks to the dealer.
The tech at the dealer fitted the new unit and programmed in the radio stations and all that as well. Off course I had to reprogram my hidden equalisation.
And only noticed this morning that the BOSE was not being displayed, I guess the tech who fitted the radio did not have a clue about having to activate the BOSE option, typical I guess.
Thanks for Audiworld.
