3 ways to perform throttle adaption
According to "The 2.7-litre V6 Biturbo - Design and Function Self-study Programme 198 (pg 42)", there are 3 ways to perform throttle adaption.
Manually - provided the ignition has been switched on for at least 24 minutes without operating the starter or accelerator.
Automatically - provided the need for adaption is acknowledged.
Specifically - by initiating basic setting 04 in measured value block 60
My questions are:
Is the "24 minutes" a typo? Should it read "2-4" (ie. 2 to 4 minutes) instead?
And what is meant by the "automatic" method? How do you acknowledge the need?

Audi's manuals are full of errors but I believe the 24 is correct.
Why would you want the car to be doing throttle adaptation so often?
24 min sounds reasonable if you intent and WANT to do it, not everybody would leave their car with ignition on for more than 5 min at any time.

I think it's a typo. (m)
I do the "manual" alignment every few days when I get home, just for the warm feeling.
You can hear it in the car when it's quiet, and usually takes about 2-3 minutes. This results in a less precise alignment than can be done with the VAG tool.
As I understand the automatic alignment, the ECU, in response to error codes, will align the Fly-By-Wire system during operation step by step as certain states occur. This allegedly takes several trips (startups and shutdowns). This, also, is said to results in a less precise alignment than can be done with the VAG tool. Sounds like reasonable hearsay.
