This is not true.
The green tint/grey tint issue is a matter of manufacturing. The OEM for the glass is Sigla. They used to make the panes with the green tint, but had been slowly switching to grey tint. There are still green-tint windshields in the parts channel.
I know this because, just last week when I had my windshield replaced, the first one they trotted out had green tint. I told them I didn't really like the green tint, did they have another pane in stock? Yes, they said, one more. Let's go check it. We did, and it had grey tint. The Audi part number (on the shipping boxes) and the Sigla part number (on the glass) was exactly the same between the two panes. It's all a factor of when it was made.
So, it's not true that "the A4 and S4 windshields are not the same", exactly. Like smokin_S4 discoverd, there is a different part for S4s equipped with autodimming mirrors. But for those of us without them, the A4/S4 windshield part listed in the database is the right part. The color of the tint band has nothing to do with the part number.

What kind of skid are you trying to depict in your sig?
90 degrees sideways and then starting to straighten out? I'd like to see that happen for real, maybe in an empty parking lot. 360 steer ala Tiff Needell?
