In Reply to: Yeah, but I would've expected the C5 platform to be OK, since it was contemporaneous with the B5. My posted by TwinTurboTerror on 2008-07-24 06:06:46

when all the interior pieces lessened in quality imo. Go see/drive a 2001'ish A6 or allroad and you can feel the tactile changes in all the switch gear, old vs new.

I looked at 2005 4.2l allroads for a few mos this year as a S4 replacement(something I could tow with) and just couldn't get excited about one with all the Audi-ness that I would be hit with after warranty. I probably would have purchased one if there were a 6sp option on the V8 but... still like the car overall. FWIW there is a ~$10K swing on the 2005s at auction now, warranty being the *only* difference that I can find. Think that a pretty good sign on what to expect with a 4.2l out of warranty lol. I can self-maintain most of my cars but just don't want the headaches of having to pull the tranny or other when the thing breaks.

    Hal.

    Whoops...

    I wanna ride...

APR Stg3 (and then some more) for sale in the AW classifieds
