Default Has anyone put more protective coats of clear coat on new rims to protect the finish?

I just ordered flik arctics with the black centers to use as my winter wheels, but I heard that they have a pretty crappy finish and corrode rather easily. Someone suggested that I put more coats of clear on to protect them. Has anyone done this? If so, how much did it cost and was it effective?

Fliks are so cheap why bother. Just buy new ones when they get worn.

Default if that's the case, clean them really well and hit them up with some cans of spray clear

can't hurt.

Even if they're brand new, never mounted?

Default yup; otherwise, all the dirt they accumulated from sitting in a warehouse and all the

metal trash on them from processing gets into the clear coat.

Be careful - most clears that you put on will turn a yellowish color and crack.
