Default Well.... I never dynoe'd them side by side...

I did dyno the DarIntake against the EVO...check the Performance section of my FAQ...

Theoretically only of course...
-Even the DarIntake draws air from the engine bay.
- The X1 is nearly completely sealed from engine bay heat. Really all that can get through is that which can get around the hole where the intake pipe goes through the carbon fiber and that is real tight...

The shroud does an excellent job of sealing off the engine bay. The rubber gasket is sealed against the underside of the hood...mine actually has an impression of the shroud in the hood matting.

This is taken looking at the underside of the hood, through the headlight opening..

If you cut the weather stripping that is across the front of the core support it allows air to flow over the top of the headlight housing...

Follow the weather stripping...

Once the hood is closed, air can enter from the stock snorkel and under and over the headlight. My kit doesn't have the side plate so I get air from the wheel well as well.

We just tuned mine to 415whp so I assume it doesn't hurt performance... ;-)

As far as the sensors...they get mounted on the supplied aluminum plate which includes risers..it's a pretty good heat sink..

Regarding the sound...I can definitely hear it. It is a more constant intake sound, like the sound velocity stacks make as they suck in the universe around them with a pssssssssshhhhhh... sound as you accellerate. I hear it more when the car is cold, but that is likely because the exhaust note is suppressed because I am not on it hard. The EVO has more of blow off sound with a PPSSHHT when you lift of throttle.
