    If you look at the overall surface area of the IC, which includes all of those fins, how much percentage-wise is the one side? A rough swag on my part puts it at <2%. And the side isn't designed to cool the intake air, does the charge air even come into contact with the external sides of the IC core?

    So the question becomes, is a very small area that wasn't designed to transfer heat from the charge air going to affect the results if the temperature there is slightly different than the rest of the IC? I'm comfortable that it isn't.
