It's obviously not going to please everyone. And I am no expert on these things.
It isn't meant to be a laboratory test. My first comment was that it was "an attempt" at developing some usable data. I also mentioned that, in retrospect, I could have measured the output with my wind gauge and then matched it to an appropriate vehicle speed.. The heat gun (it was a hair drier..not nearly as hot as a heat gun) maxed well over 250 degrees. What's the average temp of charge air? Density? I can't say I was even attempting to get that detailed.. The shrouds?? It was a lose lose situation...if I mounted them (I didn't because, well..I forgot) someone would have bitched about the shrouds not covering the entire face of the IPP's. With them off, it was inevitable that someone would complain about them being off... And I didn't have time to do them with and without the shrouds. This said...they are bolted on my car and we are currently interpreting the before and after logs. At this point, I can only make the following comments... The ambient temp, vehicle load and road conditions were identical for the before and after logs. The indicator LEDs on my display showed a fast IC recovery with the IPPs and the best FATS for the stockers was 5.01, while the best FATS for the IPPs was 4.67..on the same stretch of road, in the same direction at the same ambient temp with the same load, but with a head wind. Sorry to dissappoint you but it was the best I could do... And my stated objective with the IPPs was improvement not optimization. I tend to see the glass as half full. ![]() My Wheel Repair NASA Style ** The Unofficial AW Buyer / Seller Feedback Thread ** The nOOb FAQ ~ LI-S4 Style |
