There was enough support and documentation between Flyboy, FunkWeasel and Don P that I did them without logging before and after..
Do I wish I didn't do them? No. I never used the headlight washers and they system is real trick..so if nothing else they are worth while just for fun factor... My pump has never failed. Nochanges to my system except possibly stream lining the spray nozzles. This system works using it's own ECU (I have mounted in the glove box). It monitors injector duty cycle, ambient temp and the temp after the inter-coolers. You set the temp delta (difference between ambient, infront of the IC and IC temp, at the rear of the same IC) at the point at which you want the system "armed" and you set the throttle position the same way (actually the duty cycle of the injectors which Autospeed calls Fang). I have the Duty Cycle set to about three quarter throttle and the temp delta at about 25 degrees. If both of these user set thresholds are exceeded the ecu will power the misters for as long as it determines is appropriate. It seems to be a learning system since I have seen it spray for much longer periods when I have jumped on the throttle then when I have eased it on. I was interested in monitoring the system for fine tuning so I fabricated a series of LED's which I incorporated into my V1 display so I could see it easily... ![]() The four red LED's are status indicators..one each for Power, IC Temp sensor, Ambient Temp sensor and Inj Duty Cycle. If the Temp delta is exceeded the first yellow lights up. If the Duty Cycle pre-set is exceeded the second yellow is illuminated...if both are tripped and the pump is turned on the green illuminates. The ECU is mounted in the glove box (Temp delta is exceeded here and the indicator is illuminated Red). The power and Serial plugs have been modified to accomodate the LED's and a manual overide located inside the shift boot) ![]() The Ambient Temp sensor and the drivers side mister.. ![]() Click the last link in my sig, go to performance and Check the links for additional info from Flyboy, DonP and Funkadelic.org ![]() My Wheel Repair NASA Style ** The Unofficial AW Buyer / Seller Feedback Thread ** The nOOb FAQ ~ LI-S4 Style |
