Default My 76k oil analysis on Mobil 1 0W40 (7500 mile interval, 7 track days)

As usual, I don't have any hosting capabilities, so I'll do my best to reproduce the oil analysis below. I was trying for an 8000 mile interval as they recommended last time, but I had to do an 1800 mile drive from KC to Seattle, so I figured it would be best to just change early at 7554 miles. OEM filter, always changed with the oil. 0.25 quarts make-up oil.

First, the comments:

"The long trip and seven track days didn't hurt this engine one bit. The higher iron was probably from the track competition and trip combined. All of your wear metals read pretty close to universal averages (which are based on a 6500-mile oil change interval) for this type of V-6. Silicon at 7 ppm shows normal air filtration. Low insolubles at 0.2% indicates very good oil filtration. We did not find any fuel, water or anti-freeze and the oil's viscosity measured in the 0W/40 grade range. Try 8000 miles for the next sample."

Next, the elements in ppm (current first, average second):

aluminum: 4-3
chromium: 1-1
iron: 22-20
copper: 5-5
lead: 0-0
tin: 0-0
molybdenum: 67-63
nickel: 0-0
manganese: 0-0
silver: 0-0
titanium: 0-0
potassium: 0-1
boron: 103-103
silicon: 7-8
sodium: 4-4
calcium: 2581-2502
magnesium: 18-27
phosphorus: 716-691
zinc: 880-830
barium: 0-0

Last, the properties (current first, target second):

SUS viscosity @ 210 deg F: 67.3 - 65-76
Flashpoint in deg F: 415 - >375
Fuel %: <0.5 - <2.0
Antifreeze %: 0.0 - 0
Water %: 0.0 - <0.1
Insolubles %: 0.3 - <0.6

You can read the results of my previous oil analyses via the links in my sig.

Good work! Hope the long-distance drive went smoothly, and the transition too!

Yeah, it was an easy drive, actually. After I cleared Nebraska, the scenery was awesome.

I didn't know that there were different ones. I went with the same part number I always use.

Default Very nice. I haven't had mine analyzed lately and with all the coolant issues

I may send a sample off again next oil change. I've been going with 7,000-8,000 OCI's lately but that's w/o any track days and on the German Castrol.
