Byington Racing Enterprises Inc. is proud to announce the development of a new brake kit which will be available for purchase through Startup Racing in approximately 2 weeks.
I'm tired of seeing the same tired debates over products that are only put into serious use <1% of the time. I think it's about time somebody stepped out of the box and put together a competitive brake solution for the S4 owner who is serious about on-track performance. The new brake kit will use tried and true racing components that will be customized for use on each individual application. The kit will feature Sierra Racing calipers, the premier braking system used in all forms of racing in American motorsport, including NASCAR Nextel Cup. Sierra engineers are very excited about working with Byington Racing and Startup Racing to develop a superior alternative to what is currently on the market. We have already begun work on the most exciting part of the kit, a Sierra Racing master cylinder that will replace the existing stock piece; a prototype will be on a car by the end of the week. For the front of the car, we have chosen to use Sierra's GN Caliper; we will be testing the Cup caliper, but in the interest of reducing unsprung weight we feel the GN Caliper will be preferable. A wide range of pads are available for the GN caliper and we are working closely with Hawk on development of additional mid-range pad compounds. The GN Caliper will sit on a custom floating 13" rotor and utilize a custom CNC machined hat to our specifications and spacing. The rotor will utilize proprietary directional vein technology which we have tested on our liquid dynamics CAD program. For the rear of the kit, we will use Sierra's latest billet caliper, the MGN-Pro. Similar to the front, we will customize a 12.5" heavy duty, directional vein rotor to match up to our own CNC hat. Please e-mail Tomasz to indicate interest, I will be too busy developing and testing to answer your questions. *okay, since most of you won't get the underlying humor in all this... it's a joke* Come on, Sierra calipers? I run them on my mustang, but geezus, they can't go half a season without being rebuilt. And the Coleman rotor pictures probably gave Jason a good laugh. Either way, while this is a joke and I'd never actually take the time to put this together... but don't tempt me :P *trying front hardware pictures again ;) ![]() ![]() |
